Fall in Vancouver

    SiC Fall in Vancouver

The previous week marked the start of Fall in Vancouver 2019. Following a 5-day streak of rain, Vancouver burst into sunny days, with occasional showers. This meant that the changing colours of the leaves were out in HD!

Shipyards Music Festival at Lonsdale Quay, North Vancouver

While the youth are out at City Hall for the Climate Strike, oldies like me spent our time in the CapU library; there was no better time to enjoy the peace and catch up on work!

However, the library also closes at 6pm on Friday (usually 10pm), so RS and I went to Lonsdale Quay for dinner.

It was then we chanced upon the Shipyards Music Festival, which was by Lonsdale Quay Market.

The band was awesome and they belted out groovy tunes. Really unlike the street concerts we have back in Singapore, where the lead singers were out of tune and out of beat. It was unfortunate that the weather was too cold (about 14C that night!) and deterred many from hanging out at the concert. The wind from the harbour was so bitter that a fat man like Sing in Can couldn’t hold the camera properly!

    Night View of Downtown Vancouver

We went to a jetty near the Shipyards to catch the nightscape of downtown Vacouver again. Compared to the last time, where the rain and mist obscured the view slightly, we had a very crisp scenery before us.

Unfortunately, though, my hands were shaking from the cold, so the photos turned out blur! The powerful editing engine of Snapseed couldn’t even salvage that!

Lantern Exhibition at Vancouver Art Gallery

On Saturday, while wandering around downtown Vancouver, we came across a Chinese lantern festival at the plaza in front of Vancouver Art Gallery.

    Downtown Vancouver (3) Fall Exhibit

It was a simple set up of lighted installations, with the main attraction being that of 2 Chinese dragons fighting over the heavenly pearl.

To be honest, I have no idea what it was called, because there was sign around the exhibit.
